Biographical Sketch

Yariv Ephraim received the D.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1984 from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. He has been with George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, since 1991, where he is Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, New Jersey, from 1985 until 1993, and a Rothschild Post-Doctoral Fellow at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, from 1984 through 1985. His current research interests are in statistical signal processing with applications to speech signals and array processing. He was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 1994 for his ``Contributions to the Theory and Application of Statistical Speech Enhancement.''
